Graduating from London College of Fashion, and after working her way up at Burberry, Zandra Rhodes and Jasper Conran - Nancy Van Ostren's debut Autumn/Winter 2010 collection was a huge hit that she now hopes to eclipse with the bigger and brighter 'Enchanted Nightmares' follow up collection for Spring/Summer 2011.
Inspired by childhood nightmares of dark fairytale forests and TV favourite 'Willow the Wisp' and Hansel and Gretel, Van Ostren skilfully intertwines floaty fairytale fabrics with a juxtaposition of dark under-currents; using bold tailoring and explorative cuts, pleats and silhouettes against an abundance to the mixed textures of silk, stretch cottons and linen.
This Spring/Summer collection showcases a sophisticated range of feminine tailoring, in hues of candy floss pinks and oranges, blue sherbet and marzipan neutrals. The range of future classics includes dresses, suit-style skirts, jackets and waistcoats and bubble shorts.
Spring/summer show-stealers include; the 'red riding hood' hooded jacket, split-seam 'leaf dresses' and a selection of asymmetrical and cut-out tops with a waterfall cascade of fabrics.
Personally, my favourite piece, which is a must for my wardrobe is the shorts in sand colour with an explorative, flattering and sexy cut!

Romantic with rock n roll edge-Van Ostren is already forging a signature style.
After a discussion with her, Nancy told me that one of her future plans is to start experimenting with jersey and knitwear. Fashion wandering loved her collection, and is waiting for her successful next steps! What about you?
